Cannot upload photo for Student Developer Pack verification

Hi everyone,

Hi GitHub Education Team,

I’m a student applying for the GitHub Student Developer Pack.

At the “Take a photo” step, the system only allows me to take a new photo with the camera and there is no option to upload an existing photo from my gallery or files. I tried on both Android and iOS but the issue persists.

Could you please advise me on how to complete the verification?

Is it same with desktop ? I think you could do it with desktop version of website without any problem.

Unfortunately, this cannot be solved in any way, such measures have been introduced for a long time, I received GH Edu two years ago and it was the same, I think it was done for security, so I recommend putting the smartphone (since the camera is better there) on the stand and photographing the documents, if you need it with a paper with a translation, it is worth doing it carefully so that everything is readable, try it, I did it that way.

Hi @congajkh,

The upload option is not always available, in which case you'll need to take a photo with your device's camera:

Your first and last name, complete school name, and a date demonstrating current academic affiliation must appear in your document.
Make sure the image is clear and easy to read; if it looks blurry, please take a new photo. 👈

Try using a tool such as OBS Studio's virtual camera system to display your academic proof in OBS. I'm not sure if it will work, but it's the only way I can think of to submit the documentation in digital format to apply for the Student Developer Pack.

If you wish to contact support, you can do so by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and explain your problem.
