Hi @raymond-chetty! It's totally possible since you can customize the container. The base image doesn't include it as it's heavier than many projects need. See https://github.com/Chuxel/systemd-devcontainer for an example. |

Is it possible to undisable systemd?
It looks like there is a whole shim about it: https://github.com/microsoft/vscode-dev-containers/blob/main/script-library/common-debian.sh#L285
It's possible this is just how the base image was created. In case that is relevant the image in question is the latest default ubuntu image.
