Solution — enable upload / provide manual review (polished, ready-to-send, structured English)Below is a complete, copy-paste-ready plan you can use right now: quick troubleshooting, how to produce clear images from PDFs or IDs, technical workarounds you can try, and two polished message templates you can send to the service (one long detailed support message and one short urgent request). Follow the steps in order — start with the quick fixes, then prepare the files, then send the support message if the in-app camera-only flow still blocks you. Quick summary (1-line you can paste wherever)
1) Quick troubleshooting (try these first — often solves camera blur)
If the app still forces live capture and the capture is always blurry, proceed to prepare offline files and contact support. 2) How to produce clear images (student ID + transcript) — easy methodsFrom a PDF transcript (no printing)
For a physical student ID card
Image specs & naming
Security note: Only upload IDs through the official, secure support channel the service provides. Do not post ID images publicly. 3) Technical workarounds if the app is camera-only
4) What to ask support for (options to request)
5) Copy-paste support message (detailed) — fill in bracketed fields and send to their support formSubject: Please enable file upload or accept attachments — my live camera captures are blurry (student verification for Body:
6) Short urgent message (one-line) — paste where short replies are accepted
7) Follow-up & escalation (if no response within 48 hours)
8) After verification — best practices

Hey @T7SEN, I ran into the same issue before. By default, the verification flow only opens the front camera on most devices. There isn’t an upload option right now, but here’s a workaround that usually works:
If it still doesn’t work for you, you can raise a ticket with GitHub Education support here: They’re usually pretty responsive with Student Developer Pack verification requests. Good luck with your student developer plan. |

Hi @T7SEN, The upload option is not always available, in which case you'll need to take a photo with your device's camera:
If you get rejected repeatedly, contact support by opening a ticket here, select " |

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to verify my student status, but the application only gives me a live camera capture; there’s no option to upload a file anywhere. I’ve reapplied multiple times on desktop (Chrome/Firefox/Edge, normal and private windows) and on two phones. It’s camera-only every time, and the captures come out blurry.
I can provide clear proof if I can upload:
• My student ID shows my full name on the front, and the University’s name on the back.
• My transcript is a PDF that I can’t print right now—that’s why I need to upload an image (photo/screenshot) instead of a live picture.
Could you enable the upload option for my application or let me attach the images here for manual review? I can provide everything as clear JPG/PNG right away.
Thanks.
