Formal German Responses in German & Japanese / Translator API

I am looking for some help in optimising the outputs from the translator API. In German and Japanese, the responses are too formal, and don't appear as colloquial as they could be. Are there patterns and/or configurations that lend themselves more towards a more modern language output, that is more in tune with current language standards / not so formal?

Help is appreciated / also curious if this is a common topic?

This approach could be valuable if you have data available to finetune the translator base model to be the style you are looking for

Yes,the team had a look at this approach, and wasn't particularly happy with the results. I did see that the Azure AI translation API now supports tone settings, so exploring that - but grateful for any Pointers or blueprints particularly suited for conversational interfaces.
